To answer everybody's question, no i am not dead just enjoying my Christmas break. Folks i am all about having 3 weeks breaks it is sweet, the only problem is i seem to be alone, by this i mean that josh isn't here. He is off doing the one thing that i want to do most right now Serving a Mission. Now that he is gone it seems like i have to wait forever to go, next semester is gonna suck. Well anyway things have been going good I've just been playing GH3 and Wii in my spare time which is all the time beside when i work so its pretty cool. Keep it real folks and I'll be back on the usual schedule starting on the 7th of January when all i have to do is pretend to study.

Things are going pretty good i am maybe somewhere near the mid line of my continuum just because of finals. This week i have the Super Nintendo up and we are dominating on Megaman and Mario it is sweet. Well can't wait to be done but i need to study up so keep it up world.

The End of an Era (sort of)

Here we go sorry i didn't get this our earlier today but at least i remembered. Today is Josh's last Tuesday for two years so this Story Time Tuesday goes out to Josh.

Well where to start cause i really don't have one story for this it is more like a on going story that never really ended and it never will i guarantee that. Well i guess we start at the beginning. Josh and I met in the 7th grade. You want to know what we did well we begged for money at lunch, and we made bank. On average 4 dollars a day some days more some days less and we would spend that money on whatever junk was in the vending machine. It was awesome had we saved that money we would have had enough to buy a car when we turned 16 something like that it was amazing. Well since that day no matter what was going on i could always count on josh, give him a call ride over and chill no matter what he was there.

Well moving on through time we hit sophomore year. Tell you what if it weren't for josh i wouldn't have made it, i put up with his wrestling crap cause i wanted to there was no option for me it was a must and boy was I grateful. Josh and I walked to the carls everyday it seemed like, and it was awesome josh would use his U of U Ticket stubs and get a large lemonade and a famous star, me, well thanks to the M card two westerns baby no other way to go. We did this all the time and we continued to do it all through high school, maybe not walking but we would hop in Dora or the Exploder and hit up anything and everything. Josh was there. I don't think there was one time, one experience that i enjoyed in high school that josh wasn't there for. Oh and Josh we never got in another game of Monopoly so when we get back watch out cause i'm gonna be gunnin' for ya.

Josh was with me all the time even at work, that's right folks it was me that brought josh to the lion house, and if it weren't for josh it would have sucked, driving down together complaining about things like the red turn arrow the 5 second walkers nay the 5 second strollers. We did it all those are some times i wouldn't trade for anything.

This leads up to right now my latest venture in life, College. Josh may not have been up here with me all the time but no matter what he was just a quick phone call away and let me tell you, I lived for the weekends when i would come home walk in the door to my house and drop my stuff off then go over to chill with josh. My all time favorite week of school was and will forever be the week josh came and stayed with me. We just chilled played some ping pong and did whatever but just because josh was here it made it the best.

This first little while is gonna be tough i know but i know he is doing what is right and i can't wait till i can get out there as well so good luck Josh I'll miss you and things won't be the same but i already have a list of things we need to do when we are both back and they will get done. Thanks kid for always being there i wouldn't be where i am today without you. Good Luck God Speed and I'll see ya later.

What has happened?

Well i realized today that i haven't blogged in quite sometime. I blame that on thanksgiving, when i am home i have other things i can do besides chillin on my laptop and i missed story time Tuesday again yesterday, kinda a busy day. Anyway I've still got plenty of stories for just about every topic under the sun but thinking of them on my own is kind of tough most the time they just come up in conversation so I'll be back on track next week as it will be the last story time Tuesday before Josh goes into the MTC so it will be a good one next week.

Anyway enough of me explaining why i haven't blogged, on to the blog. Well this last week has been kind of an interesting one. Since my last post i had been home for Thanksgiving. I loved every minute of it. I was able to chill with Josh, Preston, John and a bunch of other people. Plus it was Thanksgiving i love Thanksgiving and people always skip it jumping right ahead to Christmas, i say give thanksgiving some props cause it is such a sweet holiday. Well anyway since being back from the Thanksgiving break i have been feeling kind of nostalgic. I got to go home for more than a few days and i did some of the stuff that i haven't done it quite some time. Josh and i worked together for the last time, we played a little Lion House curling such a great game. Josh killed me both times we played but it was still fun. Well that brought me back to the days when Josh and I would work together all the time and compete in the Lion House Games. That would be a good story for a Tuesday hmm.... we'll see. Well just things like that brought me back to last year when things seemed a little more simple. I'm hoping that when the semester break comes I'll have a nice break and enjoy some of those things again.

Well anyway that's whats up as of the moment be sure to check out next weeks story time Tuesday, it will be a good one.

Oh What a Beautiful Day

Holy Crap people today has been one amazing day. I woke up scared as crap because i had my chemistry test today. For those of you who don't know Chemistry has become the bane of my existence, it just kills me inside, and today i had a test. Boo Chemistry Test Hooray Beer!! Anyway i had to sit through an hour of Biology with him rambling on about plant cycles, what a joke. Anyway after i tried to enjoy my breakfast which is impossible when you are worrying about a Test that will determine whether i pass or not. Well anyway i get to Chem and sit down and open up the test and i went through it, it wasn't easy but i had put in my time and it was out of my hands now. It took me almost the whole class but i finished.

Finally done now i could put it behind me for a few hours till i would get the results. I had decided that getting through this test was grounds for celebration so i skipped my Chem Lab, we are allowed to skip one and i figure hey why not skip today. Well anyway i get home and wait around for my scores. I check.... nothing so have to wait a bit longer. When finally the key to the exam shows up I look and you heard it here first folks i pulled out a B yes relief, The Day is Mine. I felt like i could Flippin run a Marathon or climb Everest. Don't you just love that feeling cause i do. I was so happy i am still shaking right now, this means that i can still pull a B out of the class very good news to say the least.

Well other than getting a B on the chemistry test i checked my mailbox today and what do you know i received a letter from Elder Brock Dehlin. This is a very exciting thing cause i don't hear from Brock that often and i really wanted to hear his reaction to the package that we sent him. To explain, Brock wrote me a letter and told me that he really missed Mountain Dew and that we has having a few other problems. So Josh and I got a package ready with some Mountain Dew and a few other things and a letters from us as well as John, Ellen, and my Mom and Josh sent it off. Well i got his letter today and it was an excellent letter two pages front and back and a picture. He answered all my questions and just told me whats up he seems so excited about serving i love it. I can't wait to get out and serve myself. If any of you want to see the letter let me know I'm gonna bring it home with me. Well that was today, such a great day plus only 24 hours from right now and i will be back in good old M-Town so really this is amazing!!

Here we are again another Story Time Tuesday. Looks like good old scout stories won this week and i am happy about that. I have a lot of stories about scouting and mostly because i had Philip Klc in my troop for those of you who don't know at least one Klc, they are a breed of there own. The story that i would like to tell happened during my first week long camp as a scout. We were up at Camp Hunt for our scout camp and i was having a blast it was great just up with a bunch of the guys I'd grown up with having a good time. We did all you normal stuff and a few things that weren't that normal but hey we are scouts what do you expect. One day about halfway through the week a couple of the guys show up telling us that there is a great tree just a little ways away that we should all go climb so when we had some free time we all went down to the tree. It really was a great tree, perfect for climbing nice sturdy low branches to start on and then it only got better the higher you got. There was about 13 of us on the tree and as we all climbed up we each picked a branch that was "ours" whatever that means. Well being the smallest and newest member of our troop i got shafted with the crappy branches. Most would not hold my weight and the other ones just didn't look great. Well i decided to pick a branch that looked alright but it also meant it wouldn't hold my weight. I step out on to it testing the branch and it felt sturdy enough so i put all my weight on it. And wouldn't you know as soon as i did the branch gave way. I don't know what it is but every time i have fallen out of a tree i fall head first maybe i have a big head i don't know but sure enough i was falling from my branch about 30 feet from the ground head first. You know how people always say they see there life flashes before there eyes? Well mine didn't, i just remember thinking oh crap this is it mom is gonna be pissed. Well when i was about a foot or 2 from the ground something amazing hap pend. My foot caught in the last branch before the ground. So here i am hanging upside down about a foot off the ground and one of the other guys who was about to go up the tree just looks at me and starts to climb up. I look at him and yell "What the Heck, are you gonna help me down?" Well he did help me down but not without protesting that he hadn't climbed the tree yet. I almost die or maybe paralyze myself and he is complaining that he didn't get to climb the tree wow us scouts are real smart. I walked away with a few scratches but that was it. Well there you have it i don't know why but I guess i am needed on this earth to do something and that thing requires that i be able to move around on my own. I am grateful for that cause just think all of the things i would have missed out on wow i am one lucky guy. Well anyway because of that incident some other scout troop comes over and there leader is yelling something about taking points away from us, what the heck are points its scout camp, and quite frankly none of us cared cause 1 i was alive and 2 none of the guys saw me dead or seriously injured. Well at that night fireside type thing they made an announcement that from now on at Camp Hunt climbing trees is against the rules, because some kid fell out of a tree. Philip Klc who was sitting next to me yells its because of this kid pointing to me so of course everybody looks at me the kid that ruined there fun. Wow did i feel great. At least i was not seriously injured or dead so I'll take it. But there you have it folks fall out of a tree and walk away none worse for the wear. I am pretty lucky and i hope i am able to do whatever i was needed on this earth for.

That's Life

I realized that besides my first post i have only told my stories which is good but kind of defeats the purpose of my blog and its name. I can't really place myself somewhere on the continuum in the past so i am going to try a lot harder to post at least twice a week obviously story time Tuesday and then one other to kind of balance things out. Right now i am kind of shifting from the right(good) side of the continuum towards the middle. Why you may ask well there are a few reason, first of all it really hit me hard a few days ago that Josh leaves in like 20something days and i am stuck up at school because of stupid finals and something about keeping my scholarship i hate it, lets just say I live for the weekend when i can go home give Josh a call and chill doesn't matter what we do but it is always 10 times better than being up at the "State" pretending to study. And also finals are coming up and the best grade i can pull out of chem is a low B or High C and that's if i do extremely well on my next few tests. Really the only thing that keeps me going is knowing Friday is just around the corner. But alas this week i don't even have that refuge because although i am coming home i get to waste my time at my brothers wedding. He is getting married Saturday so i figured Friday i could chill with Josh and John and whoever else but no my parents have a last supper of sorts for the Fam cause i guess my brother is dieing on Saturday and we'll never see him again, lame i know. And then of course Saturday is an all day affair so there goes my beloved weekend. Other than weekends i have the wonderful Holiday of Thanksgiving in which i get a 5 day weekend plus the most succulent food there is that is wonderful. And Finally end of semester which is bitter-sweet because I do get 3 weeks off of the hum and drum of school(yes i did just use hum and drum) but josh will be gone, luckily Preston will be up and Alvin better be or I'll go down drag him up and slash his tires so he can't go back. Well anyway that's my life right now, i just need to keep living for the wonderful weekends and enjoy them while i can.

Ping Pong The Ultimate Time Waster

I'm glad that whoever was the 4th vote didn't go for sports, cause then i would have had to come up with something not on the poll and tell a story about that. Don't worry i will revisit the topics left behind cause there are great stories for each. I would like to apologize for the length of last weeks "Story Time Tuesday" what can i say i spend a lot of my time in the car, and some great things happened in cars. This weeks story is good, some of you may have heard it but it is worth my time and should be worth yours if you are reading this anyway. Here we go!

Alright Ping Pong what a great game taking the game of tennis and putting it on a much smaller playing field i have to give credit to the Asians they made a great game and a wonderful way for me to waste so much time. Ping Pong has always been there throughout my life but for some reason i never had a table of my own kind of sad but oh well it just makes me appreciate the game more now that i do have a table in my building. Well the story that i have in mind is one of my many downfalls while playing the game, but none as great as this have happened since and most likely will ever happen again. I play Ping Pong with two of my Roommates Daniel, and Kyle. Daniel and I are pretty evenly matched and we trade off wins all the time but Kyle well Kyle has become my arch-nemesis in the game of Ping Pong for some reason neither Daniel or I can beat him. We may hit amazing shots but Kyle with his Gorilla arms somehow hits it back and wins the point the guy is a brick wall. Anyway to this date I have only beat Kyle 2 times in full games and once in a game to 11. We play a lot so my record is probably 2.5-1 billion. I come close to beating him at times but then i hit a point where for some reason i decide it is better for me to stop scoring and loose the game, i don't know why but i do. In one such game i was doing great. I was hitting shots in that i normally wouldn't and kyle wasn't hitting anything in. The game was going great I was up like 17-8 or something like that. The game is first to 21 winning by 2 so if i scored just 1 point for every point kyle scored i would still win but can i do that i don't think so. At this point in the game i got "greedy" i was hitting shots that i shouldn't have hit and i wasn't hitting them in so i would exclaim "I'm getting greedy!" And to this both Daniel and Josh who was up with me for the week would continue to make fun of me. I have since figured that while i am really laughing i cannot win a point in ping pong it is physically impossible no matter how hard i try i will not score needless to say kyle ended up beating me 21-19 yes that is right i only scored 2 more points during the game embarrassing i know but it wasn't my fault i blame it on Daniel and Josh, I was so pissed like unbelievably mad, keep in mind that kyle is the bad guy he always wins and Daniel and I never win. So to be up by more than double his score and to loose because people who should have been on my side weren't is infuriating. I proceeded to pick up the ball and hit it right into Kyle, Kyle is twice my size so as soon as it hit i started to walk down the hall ready to book it when i saw him coming. Well to my surprise he didn't do anything until all of a sudden i turn around and there is Kyle coming at me at he speed of light i about died. Josh tries to describe my face but to this day cannot because well only in situations of near death does one use this face. Anyway I start running down the hall towards the stairwell but i had to stop to open the door while Kyle had the luxury of running right through the door that i had opened well i had to do this twice so by the time i was in open space again Kyle was upon me. Like a Cheetah chasing its pray Kyle reaches his Gorilla arms forward and trips me up, but wait I'm still up i can make it, but no i was not that lucky Kyle with is Gorilla arms and Lighting fast reflexes grabs me and brings me down. Throughout this whole thing i was yelling "I Hate you guys, I Hate you guys!!" So when he caught me, I was toast. He was sitting on top of me and I'm not sure if it was the fact that my adrenaline was flowing or that someone came out yelling something about Ping Pong and Violence but i didn't feel the pain of Kyles fists crushing me. Wow one of the scariest events in my life and i pretty much escape unscathed well besides my pride being crushed. Well that is my story one of the lowest points in my life embarrassed and broken i didn't play ping pong against Kyle for a long time but when I did i held my own defeating him once more and only ever loosing by very small margins. So that is ping pong, a violent game very dangerous especially while playing a very fast Gorilla so my advice don't do it, it only leaves you crushed and broken.

Well that is my story for this week sorry again for the length i underestimate how long these stories really are but hope you enjoyed it and I'll set up another poll don't you worry.

Driving

For my first story time Tuesday i have decided to focus my stories to my times behind the wheel or rather anytime i have been in a car. As a preface i would like to say that i still love driving it is the same feeling now when i get behind the wheel of the car then it was when i first got in and drove. People say that after awhile you get sick of driving and you don't like at all well to those people i say "BOOOOO!" The only thing that stops me from getting in the good old "Exploder" and cruising around is the ridiculous gas prices and the fact that I don't have a job to pay for the gas. So anyway some of the greatest things have happened in a car either due to others stupidity or my own so here it goes.

The first time i drove a car was when i was about 12, i was out helping my cousin deliver papers in the morning and as i put the last paper on the porch of the house i turned around to see my cousin getting in the passenger side of the car, so being the innocent child that i was i walked around and tried to get in the passenger side, thinking that he was just looking for something, but he said "what are you doing, your driving." So i got behind the wheel of his like 1980 P.O.S. and drove it, lets just say that i wasn't a natural but i did okay. After that i didn't really drive till i was a sophomore in high school taking drivers ed. This also was an experience because in the "Range" the speed limit was 10 MPH well that is lame my car idols at 10 MPH so i decided much like a young Ricky Bobby that "I wanna go fast!" So i did, i maxed out at 25 MPH in The driving range at good old Murray High School. Well it may not seem fast but have you ever tried to take a turn going 25 MPH with 7 other cars around you in an enclosed space, well don't cause it is hard but i did it. That was about the time that my range instructor Mr. Nakagama screamed through the radio, "Rogers, if you ever want to get your license you better slow down!" With that i decided it was best to drive the speed limit now and try and go faster later. Well enough of my early experiences lets go on to my first time driving in the snow. It was a late Saturday night and i was coming home from someones house and it had started to snow well this was great i had never driven in the snow and had never been taught how to so i just tried to do it like i would in any other weather, well lets just say that that didn't really work out, i think that i pretty much fishtailed every time i moved the steering wheel which at the time was not exciting but i made it home and the Exploder still runs today. Next was the time that i had kinda got used to driving in the snow and i really liked to do donuts and to fishtail whenever i could so on my way home from school it had snowed maybe a good 6 inches and i was driving down one of the back streets to my house, those of you that know there are many, and the road was empty and the snow had melted in the middle of the road but that's no fun so i decided to go to the sides of the road and try and spin out. I did and all was well until i came to the corner where i needed to turn and made the great choice to stay to the side of the street where it was icy and i could slide, as i made the turn the Exploder had other ideas she decided to go right into the curb which allowed my front passenger side tire to pop right off the rim well that was exciting here i was about a block from my house sitting in a car that is tilting me towards the front passenger side, well i decided i would nurse it home and then call my dad and see what i should do. I know what your saying "Brilliant really a smart idea" well i never said i was the brightest kid. When i got home i assessed the damage and i subsequently learned how to change a tire in 6 inches of snow that was a blast and it turned out i had to get 4 new tires luckily they were in desperate need to be changed otherwise my parents would have made me fork out the cash for the tires, another crisis averted. And that about sums up winter driving i do have a few more but those will have to be told another day, because i would like move past my stupidity and go on to others in which i revel.
A lot of my driving experiences include my good man Josh because we spend a lot of time together and we worked together at the Lion House for a few years. When we would drive you knew someone was being stupid when we would look at each other and exclaim "What is this Bum doing!" or something to that extent well one time coming home from a meeting we are driving and in front of us was another one of our coworkers, interesting note i later dated this girl, she was driving in front of us and as we pull up to a light which had been yellow for a long time and was honestly turning red right at the moment and she cruised through. Well josh didn't know it was this girl and he looks at me and says "did you see that this bum just ran a red light" and we laugh and give this girl a call and held that experience over her head probably till today cause it is so fun to do. Well after this minor infraction we will hit one last story which is a lot worse than running a red light downtown. This experience happened just a few weeks ago while i was down for the weekend. Josh and I and Aimee Johnson were going downtown to go to the Olive Garden for the never ending pasta bowl so we jump on the freeway and go right into the carpool lane, the carpool lane has got to be one of my favorite lanes and i don't get to drive in it that often now so it was rather exciting, as were going along we look over and there is this car, josh could tell you the make and model i was too worried about this guy cutting me off to care, this guy is cruising over and cuts me off in the carpool lane. I hate this for a few reasons, does anyone really like to be cut off and the exploder doesn't really have the greatest acceleration so once i am up at a good speed and in cruise control i hate to exit that state. Well this guy comes right over past those stupid double white lines, that no one cares about anyway but still it is the principle of the thing, and is right in front of me but then he keeps going into the shoulder, I'm thinking maybe he was having a problem and needed to stop, but no he keeps going and rams into the wall at 70 MPH. Josh, Aimee, and I are flippin out and the guy kinda starts to veer into my lane so without even looking i book it out of the carpool lane hopefully to safety. Luckily no one was in the lane next to me cause my only thought was get the heck out of the way of this other car. So that was that i witnessed some moron fall asleep at the wheel or something like that and slam right into the wall it was really something but that so far has to be the dumbest thing i have seen in my years behind the wheel. That's all for today i do have plenty more driving stories but you'll just have to ask me and of those of you who read this probably already know but hope you enjoyed the first installment of Story Time Tuesday i think I'm gonna set up a poll for what my stories should be on next week so let me know what you want to hear.

And Thus it Begins

Well this is interesting my first post, kind of exciting i guess. This is just another way for me to spend my time instead of studying like I should be. I am following in the footsteps of some great men, Preston if you read this I thank you because really your blog is what got me interested, Also my good friend Brock who although is not here and is unable to read this, his blog was great to show me that i too can complain about things if i find things to complain about. Anyway now that that is out of the way you may be asking why the title "Life on a Continuum" well a few reasons actually first, I love words that end with a -uum so far i only know two Continuum and Ultimatuum but really how cool are those words, and second i recentley learned what a Continuume was in my business class so it i found out it works. To explain, a continuum is a line, it could be anything in my case it is a line on one end showing good things and on the other end showing bad things thus life is a continuum and i was cool enough to call my blog that. Anyway now that I have explained myself I am going to set up a format for my posts. Every Tuesday(well every tuesday i remember) will be known as Story Time Tuesday's why you may ask, well I recently have been told I have a story for everything so I am going to try to relate those stories as they come to me depending on my mood and what i am thinking about at the moment. Other than that I will probably give a weekly update on Sundays cause it seems like a good place to recap my past week. And finally if something cool happens it will probably pop up sometime in the week just for kicks. Well that is how its gonna be and as I get used to what I am doing other things will pop up so hope you enjoy it, whoever you are.
Now that all the formalities are out of the way, a bit about me. My name is Spencer Wallace Rogers and i am a fan of the name although i am rarely called by my first name. My best friend Josh as formed what we like to call the progression of the Rog, it starts out as Rogers->Rog-> Rog Dog-> Doge Rog (pronounced Dodge but don't get me started on the whole d thing that is for another post)-> and finally just Doge but only josh really calls me that most people call me Rog or Rog Dog and my roomates are fond of calling me Reg (like Regis minus the is) so there you have it. I was born on the great day of May 18th, i'm a big fan of may such a happy month, last month of school a month full of good weather and just having fun. I grew up in the big M-hizzle or Murray,Utah if you will and it is there that i loved chillin with they guys doing just about anything as of the moment i am going to school up at Utah State or just "The State" as i so lovingly call it. Academically i am a Junior but really i'm just a young Freshmen just figureing out what is really going on. Life right now is good so on my continuum i am probably just a little bit off of the far right (right equals good left equals bad) so thats me and i hope your ready for "Story Time Tuesday"
